Tesco Bags!

Cleveland Fire Support Network have been very successful in gaining £4,100 for the Tesco Bags scheme in partnership with Groundworks.

The money will support our new project 'Clean up our community'.

This is a 10 month project running from June 2017 which will include the following activities throughout the Cleveland area:

- Litter picking

- Reporting arson

- Reporting anti-social behaviour

- Re-painting fences

- Helping people carry their bags after shopping at Tesco

- Putting salt on the ground in icy conditions

Chip Pan Demonstration

A huge congratulations and well done to our very own Trustee Mr Ian Dodds.

He has recently won an Award for Officer of the Most Excellent Order of The British Empire (OBE).

Mr Dodds was a Senior Policy Advisor for The Cabinet Office and was given the Award for services to civil society and community action in the North East.

Groundworks - Carriers for Cause

Cleveland Fire Support Network have been successful in securing £1,000 worth of funding from the Carriers for Cause scheme ran by Groundworks.

The money will help the Charity Celebrate our 10th Anniversary in June 2017 by recognising Volunteer Achievements and involving the local community and Partners that offer their continued support.

Huge Success!

The Sensory Loss Partnership event that was held on 24th February was a huge success and as a result will become an annual event.

We will be looking to involve many more partners to discuss not only sensory loss but other themed topics.

TESCO Bags of help! VOTE FOR US

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its Bags of Help initiative across England and Wales. The scheme sees three community groups and projects in each of around 200 Tesco regions awarded grants of £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 - all raised from the 5p bag charge.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags. The public will now vote in store from the 1st to 25th February on who should receive the £5,000, £2,000 and £1,000 awards.

Thank you to everyone who helped and for the support from members of the public on our open day at The TAD Centre on Monday.

We raised nearly £600 which will help fire and flood victims.

Due to the success of the event we will be opening on a regular basis; every Monday from 10am - 2pm starting from Monday 13th February.
